READINGS OF WRITINGS BY OTHER PEOPLE is an unprecedented endeavor, wherein established writers are asked over the course of a month to produce a work of literature they would never have produced themselves.
To do this, they are challenged to return to decisions they have made throughout their careful cultivation as artists and entertain the possibilities they have abandoned for the sake of those they have worked instead to realize. They are asked to entertain these undecided-upon possibilities, assuming alternative habits and modes of interactions in and with the world, throughout the duration of the creation of a new work of literature. The authors will read their new compositions before the public on March 15th as “works by others”—these literary artifacts they otherwise never would have written.
CONTRIBUTING AUTHORS: Donald Dunbar, Sam Lohmann, Jerry Harp, Lindsay Allison Ruoff, Robert Duncan Gray, Alex Behr, Emily Kendal Frey, David Knowles, Joseph Mains, B.T. Shaw, Amy Bernstein.
